In addition to honoring our U.S. veterans today, Poland is celebrating becoming independent on November 11, 1918, after being partitioned by Prussia, Austria, and Russia.

Another celebration today is Poland’s new status as a member of the U.S.’s Visa Waiver Program. Starting today, November 11, 2019, Polish citizens are eligible to travel to the U.S. without a visa.

The close relationship between the U.S. and Poland dates back to our Revolutionary War, when we were helped by Polish freedom fighters Tadeusz Kosciuszko and Casimir Pulaski. In addition, the United States was the first country to recognize Poland’s independence after World War I.

It’s been another busy month. I was honored to be the keynote speaker at the annual Polish Heritage Banquet of the Polish American Club of Sacramento, where I discussed my book, How Languages Saved Me: A Polish Story of Survival.

Last week, ThriveGloal.com published my article, “Learning a New Language is a Marketable Skill. It’s Also a Meaningful Way to Connect to Your Family.”

This morning I will be discussing my book with Brenda Murphy, host of “The Idea Exchange” on WBEV Good Karma Broadcasting in Wisconsin.

Finally, I’m very excited to report that I have secured Grammy-award winning Polish American producer Stefan Rudnicki to record the audio version of my book. More details will follow, but I expect to have the audiobook available for sale on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes in early 2020.

As we enter the holiday season, keep in mind that books make great gifts!
